10 Things to do with kids in Battersea this February Half Term

half term in batterseaWith February half term upon us already, here’s our round up of a few of the best ways to keep the kids entertained.

1. Go Ape discount

2. Cat & Hutch at The Bright Emporium

Cat & Hutch are a storytelling Duo dedicated to bringing children's books to life with interactive drama workshops that include different drama games. Half term’s book is Barry & Friends, by Paul Linnet and Sue Hendra. Suitable for ages 3-6.

3. Battesea Park Children’s Zoo - for the bird lovers (19th Feb)

This fun activity is all about encouraging birds to come and feed in your garden. Children will be able to build their very own bird feeder, getting messy using lots of seeds and nuts, yogurt pots and string to create a yummy treat for our feathered friends. They’ll also be a bird spotting challenge before being able to see Muckle the barn owl being fed.  

4. Children’s Pizza Making Club at MOTHER, Circus West Village, Feb 19th - 21st

This half term, Mother will host a series of afternoons for children who not only love eating pizza but also want to learn the secrets of making their favourite food!  One of Mother's pizza chefs will teach the youngsters how to make their own pizza, and they will see it being cooked right before their eyes in the wood-fired oven. Once it’s ready there's not much left, but to tuck in and rate their skills.

5. Battersea arts centre 'Noisy Animals' - 21-23 Feb

Aimed at children aged 3-8, Noisy Animals is a musical show with a difference. ‘Performed’ by Kid Carpet, internationally known for his unique brand of electro-pop-punk, Noisy Animals sees him use lo-fi technological wizardry to turn plastic toys into punk-rock superstars.

6. Biscuiteers Mr Men Icing Party Northcote Road. Friday 22nd Feb, 2pm - 3pm

Nostalgic parents and children alike will love this hour of colouring in, face painting and biscuit icing of everyone’s favourite characters from the Mr Men and Little Miss series! Limited availability so book today!

7. Bertie and Boo - Craft Time, Northcote Road

To celebrate half term, Bertie & Boo are changing up their usual story time slot in their Northcote Road Restaurant & Play space, replacing it with Craft Time, perfect for younger children looking to get creative. Craft Time will be happening at 10am and 3pm every day during half term.

8. Bach to Baby at St Luke's Church Battersea, Friday 22nd Feb at 10:30am

Ok, so this one is technically just outside of Battersea but we wanted to include it anyway as it’s a great way to enjoy some beautiful classical music with your baby. The half term show features Cupid’s Bow and doors open at 10am.

9. Earthy, Mucky Fun at Battersea Park Zoo 21st February

Get down to Battersea Park Zoo and and get your hands dirty planting and digging for worms!

The zoo is running workshops encouraging children to go and make their own newspaper plant pots and sow some seeds which encourage wildlife into their gardens or window box.

10. 'The King Who Wanted to Touch The Moon' - 20th-21st February

Skewbald Theatre returns to Circus West Village this half term with a show that will whisk children off to a tropical island to meet a king with towering ambitions! Will the king fulfil his desire to touch the moon or will it all end in disaster? This interactive storytelling adventure brings to life an exciting Caribbean folktale that's fun for the whole family. Suitable for ages 3
